The Bachelor of Science (Security and Justice Studies) brings together Security Science and Justice Studies. This unique course combination addresses the vocational needs of students who wish to seek professional employment in security and justice industries, including public law enforcement and private policing sectors. This course enables students to combine studies in the protection of assets with the studies of the nature, causes, prevention and control of crime.
Opportunities
The Double Major in Justice and Security Studies offers students the advantage of gaining knowledge of judicial concepts relating to the administration of justice, while at the same time developing their practical skills in security management and technologies. The double major is particularly useful for employment in such areas as: law enforcement, government security, private sector security, strategic facilities security, retail security, financial institutions security, corporate security, and major security organisations.
Admission requirements
Participants must generally meet Tertiary Entrance Examination requirements, however, the University offers several alternative admission pathways based on recognition of prior experience/learning, which are designed to meet the needs of specific groups of prospective students. Courses Structure The program is available full-time (3 year) or part time equivalent and is also available through external study mode. The course comprises of 24 units, 12 Security units and 12 Justice units. It's available at Joondalup full time or part time and external study.
