Course Code E40
This program is intended for serving officers wishing to achieve a Bachelor qualification and to broaden their knowledge of criminology, justice and policing. The Bachelor Degree builds on the Associate Degree. It is designed to further develop officers' critical thinking about the role of police in contemporary society, particularly in the Australasian context.
Admission requirements
Applicant must have completed recruitment training at the Western Australia Police Academy (JUST2100 Police Academy Practicum) or its equivalent.
Course Location and Availability
The course is available at Joondalup Campus in either full-time (3 years), part-time or external mode.
Course structure
Comprises 14 major units, six minor units, four electives and a 24 week Police Practicum (Police Academy training).
Students are required to complete a major, minor and/or elective studies. A minor requires six units of study selected from an area other than the major; the remaining elective units may be chosen from any area of study.

Note: Students who do not gain admission to the police academy will have to change their major from Police Studies to Justice Studies prior to the commencement of the equivalent of their third semester of full-time study.
Minor Studies
Select a Minor Study sequence appropriate to your particular needs. Students studying in the external mode choose Minors from fields which are offered externally.

Electives
In addition to the Major and Minor Study units, students complete four Electives. These may be selected from the wide range of Elective subjects offered by the University.
