“I followed my interests to find the perfect course.”
“I have always had a love of sports, so when I was first looking at university courses, Sport Management at ECU stood out straight away. The best part of my course is the industry practice which lead to a position in a resort pro-shop and as their events assistant. You gain hands-on experience in a range of different fields and can learn so much more than you would just in a classroom. I am constantly learning and able to apply it when I’m out there working in the real world.”

“The hands-on law experience is invaluable. You just can’t learn that stuff in a lecture.”
“I’ve always been interested in human rights, so I chose ECU for my law degree. The emphasis is definitely on law that makes a positive difference to society. I was also attracted by the smaller class sizes. It makes all the difference when you are tackling the more challenging concepts of law! But for me, the opportunity to get hands-on, practical experience with alternate dispute resolution and in the onsite community legal practice was more than I could resist. Not only is it exciting and engaging, it will put me in a better space to make a difference when I graduate.”

“I have experienced and supportive teachers. I know I will be job ready when I complete my studies.”
"I chose to attend ECU because they offered a course that suited my needs – study within the sport, marketing and tourism areas and hands on experience in the industry. I love Uni life, I get to meet people from different courses and different ages and backgrounds.
Lecturers at ECU know what they are teaching. They are from the industry themselves or have been part of the industry for many years. I feel very supported - one of my lecturers has provided me with contacts and job opportunities within the industry. Through the jobs link on the ECU website I got work experience with Octagon (an events company) at the Gravity Games H2O and the XXXX Gold Beach Cricket."

“Business Edge taught me skills that businesses want.”
“The Business Edge program which is part of the Bachelor of Business, is such a useful
and practical program. After one semester, it has already played a significant role in
developing my skills and helping me achieve goals. You learn skills like team-work,
written and verbal communication, presentations and critical thinking, which can be
applied everywhere – solving business problems or just resolving an argument. I am
very excited about my Bachelor of Business, knowing the personal and professional
opportunities this will bring.”

“I am loving Criminology & Justice at ECU."
"My course has been challenging, interesting and fun. Thanks to the friendly, approachable and knowledgeable lecturers I’m sure I’ll be able to land my dream career in the justice system or law enforcement. “You get to put your planning theory into practice with live projects.”
“The Bachelor of Planning at ECU covers pretty much every aspect of regional and urban planning that
I’m interested in, so it was an easy choice for me. It means that when I graduate, I’ll be useful in a whole range of planning careers. The other big draw for me was the hands-on approach. You get to put your planning theory into practice with live projects. With the knowledge and skills I’ll be equipped with, I’m confident I’ll be very employable when I graduate. As far as the staff go, I found the lecturers to be totally dedicated. They are always going out of their way to help.”

"ECU had the best opportunities for me to study a hospitality degree."
"The courses cover many ranges of topics from the legal and accounting side to the more interesting and hands on units such as commercia food service and rooms division. The teachers gave us all a lot of information from their own experiences."

“Plan your study around your life, not the other way around!”
“ECU provided an easy-going, flexible learning environment where I was able to excel.
My degree provided me with the knowledge, qualifications and experience to immediately land a job
as a graduate accountant. But my education hasn’t stopped there - the accessible ECU postgraduate
courses mean I can continue to progress my career at an accelerated rate – while I earn.”
