Dr Mahendra Chandra

Associate Professor of Finance

Associate Dean, International and Commercial

I am an Associate Professor of Finance in the School of Accounting, Finance and Economics. The units that I have taught include Introductory Finance, Financial Modelling, Corporate Finance, Managerial Finance, Business Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Studies and Decision Support.

I am currently the Associate Dean, International and Commercial for the Faculty of Business and Law.  This semester, I will be teaching and coordinating the MBA Finance course.

My research is in the area of financial econometrics. I completed my PhD in Applied Financial Econometrics at the University of Western Australia. My PhD is primarily concerned with developing univariate and multivariate models to estimate and forecast time-varying volatility, and correlations in international equity markets.  I also am looking at the use of ultra high frequency data to explain stock market behaviour using a variety of models including realised and stochastic volatility models.  My other area of research is in issue relating to the teaching and learning of maths/statistics type units.

My personal web page is under construction…
